Overview
Children’s Social Worker – Area Teams Due to our excellent progression scheme we now have fantastic opportunities to join our Area Teams as an experienced Social Worker. We are looking for social workers who are committed to achieving the best for our children, young people, and families. We particularly welcome applications from those from under represented backgrounds and all walks of life to give our diverse city the greatest level of support it deserves. Join us as an experienced Children's Social Worker and you will be delivering on the ground social care to support families across Coventry to devise and implement care plans to ensure children can live at home safely, and intervene where they can’t. Our Area Teams The city is divided into four areas; Central, East, West and South. These Area teams undertake relationship based social work, using a signs of safety approach and works with families under child in need, child protection, including PLO and initial court work as well as children looked who have a return home plan. In Coventry our Area Teams work closely with our Early Help Family Hubs, which ensures families have the right help and the right time. The Area Teams work well together, and with other teams across the city, this enables the work and caseloads to remain manageable. You will work closely with professionals from a range of agencies including health, education and social care, police and youth offending services in order to improve lived experiences for Children. You will bring your ideas and suggestions to drive our challenging journey of improvement, and put Coventry on the map for delivering more positive outcomes. You’ll be joining a great team of people who are passionate about the city, its people and its exciting prospects. You will be handling complex but manageable caseloads whilst helping us deliver a strategy that puts children and young people at the beginning, middle and end of everything we do, with all the support and resources you need to do it. You will need to have a recognised professional Social Work qualification (MA/BA/BSc in Social Work, Diploma in Social Work or CQSW) and HCPC registration with at least 18 months experience in working with looked after children, child protection, court proceedings and completing assessments within timescales.
