Purpose A 12-month post to support current product development projects and activities being undertaken by Pearson Clinical Assessment. The focus of the role will be to support the Research and Development team in work relating to the standardisation of Pearson Assessment products. The role will include activities which may include data management, supporting the project team, and assisting in the management of psychology professionals during the project standardisation phase. There may also be opportunity to conduct psychological assessments. Key Accountabilities The position reports to the UK Head of Research and Development and works predominantly within the Research and Development Team. Key Tasks Support the standardisation project for the development of key Pearson Assessment products. This will focus on the design, recruitment, and management of the project psychologists and sample. Manage administrative tasks associated with standardisation project. Manage and regularly maintain the project database to a high standard for the duration of the project, including data entry and data checking. Provide administration and scoring support to psychology and allied health professionals undertaking standardisation assessments for the project. Support the provision of training to psychology professionals involved in the standardisation project. Administer assessments (after full training) for standardisation projects. An application to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as the Criminal Records Bureau) will be carried out to ensure suitability for this task. Participate in editorial tasks associated with product development, for example editing and proof-reading materials. Contribute to the Development team by sharing thinking, ideas or insights as to how Pearson can improve and develop products. Support the implementation of current best practice in developing Psychology assessment products and comply with the BPS code of conduct. Pearson is an equal opportunities employer. Qualifications Qualifications Currently undertaking an undergraduate degree in Psychology Competencies Good organisational, planning and time management skills Conscientious and committed to delivering high quality work Able to solve problems and create successful solutions Interest in Educational and/or Psychological research Knowledge of psychometric testing Knowledge of Pearson Assessment product range Able to build and maintain strong working relationships Self motivated and able to work independently, while also being able to work effectively in a team Ability to take ownership and drive tasks through to completion Interested in contribution to the practice of Psychology Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel Desirable Experience Experience in Psychology (course-based experience is acceptable) Experience in data collection projects Experience of working in a research driven environment Familiarity of psychometric assessments. Experience administering assessment, including those with children, would be an asset.
