Overview

Badenoch Clark are working with a well known organisation based in a village just outside of Bedford, to recruit a temporary Accounts Assistant for a 3 month period. This is an all round role that would suit an immediately available Accounts Assistant who has got all round finance experience, particularly in purchase ledger, sales ledger, petty cash, cashiering. The responsibilities for the Accounts Assistant include but are not limited to: To work under the guidance of the Business Manager, support the financial areas of the organisation. Be responsible for ensuring Trial Balance is up to date and accurate at each month end including Accruals and Prepayments and to prepare relevant reports to deadlines set by the Trustees' Maintain a Monthly Period End routine to include preparation of TB, PL and Balance Sheet from accounting package Assist with the completion of the monthly Management Accounts Responsible for Balance Sheet Reconciliations Maintain Fixed Assets Register and Record of Depreciation Processing Sales and Purchase invoices, to include using a Purchase Ordering System on a timely basis Process all Sales receipts and Purchase payments on the day of receipt of invoice/sale Completing Bank reconciliations by day 2 of the new month Completing and submitting VAT returns on line and on time Prepare and process Payroll to include reporting PAYE information to HMRC Complete Year End PAYE P35 and completion of required P11D's Accurately calculate the Partial Exemption rate Prepare and process Gift Aid Returns to HMRC monthly. Keep accurate up to date records of Gift Aid Donators and to fulfil our legal requirements in respect of donators. All Daily Till Cash reconciliations and Daily Till Floats to accurately account for differences including overs and under' and to highlight and get explanations for all discrepancies by questioning and reporting on operators Responsible for recording accurately all Petty cash transactions and investigating discrepancies at the weekly reconciliation Attend meetings and take minutes as and when required. Assist with the completion of quarterly reports. To keep up to date with any legislation and training relating to the job Any other duties as required by the Business Manager within the areas of administration. Salary: £13 - £15p/h.
