Role Responsibilities for the Maintenance Team Member Carrying out building maintenance, repairs, refurbishments, project and new work Replacing electrical consumables Carrying out plumbing work Repairing furniture/site facilities in need of carpentry/welding/general handyman skills Cleaning gullies, gutters and drains Repairing/installing fences, pathways posts and potholes Attending to fault/repairs and breakdown situations Arranging specialist contractors to attend the College Swimming pool filtration and testing Locking/unlocking buildings and facilities Setting/un-setting of anti-intruder alarms and barriers Monitoring site security Testing Fire and Security alarms Providing vehicle supervision and direction at Exeat, end of terms and other College events Laying out chairs for College events Maintaining heating/hot water/cold water throughout campus Setting/re-setting boilers Reporting any breaches of Health and Safety regulations Litter collection and disposal Removal of broken furniture and equipment Keeping all external surfaces free from leaves/litter/debris This role may include travel to other school sites within the Trust to complete Estates maintenance tasks Requirements for the Maintenance Team Member Good knowledge of general building works, bricklaying, grounds works, drainage, etc. Experience of unlocking and locking of Campus buildings Able to work at heights A good understanding of Health and Safety at work Experience in maintenance and building work Specific experience or qualifications in a building trade is desirable Able to work both unsupervised and as part of a team A broad range of technical skills A current, clean driving licence Hardworking, confident team player Committed to achieving high standards Ability to communicate clearly with others and be able to work effectively with both colleagues and students Terms of role: 40 hours per week (including 3 hours contractual overtime) Monday to Friday, 08:00-16:30, plus 8 Saturdays on a rota, 07:00-20:00 £25,316 per annum, salaries are paid in 12 equal monthly instalments Additional work may be required on evenings and weekends during term time for which overtime is paid at 150% of basic rate The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, therefore all applicants must be prepared to undergo a number of checks to confirm their suitability to work with children and young people.
