We are looking to recruit a Female Care Assistant & Support Workers living in the Morley, Churwell, Cottingley area of Leeds West Yorkshire. This role is also commutable from Leeds City Centre by bus or a 10-minute walk from Cottingley Train Station. Do you believe that everyone should have the best quality of care matter what? You will be joining a unique provider, who promote independence for adults with learning and physical disabilities, living in a residential care home. Emma is an example of one of adults that you may care for: - My name is Emma, and I live in a shared house with 5 of my good friends. We all get along and I love the times we share, especially when we have our Saturday afternoon music sessions. I have cerebral palsy and I really do struggle to do any of my day to day care without the help of my Care Assistant. I require help to get out of bed with a special overhead hoist, have a shower, get dressed, have my breakfast and I need regular medication throughout the day. I can’t verbally communicate so it is really important that my carers do understand me and what I need. I will try and make them understand through use of my eyes or a sound I try to make. I also suffer from Epilepsy and I can have regular seizures, I need the people who care for me to monitor these and to call an ambulance if I have them too often. I love the people who care for me, they make me safe and comfortable, they talk to me life a friend and they still give me choice and as much independence as they can so I can have as much control over my life as possible which is very important to me What are the hours, salary and benefits? Full and part time hours are available. Full-time shifts could include days, evenings, weekends and sleepovers. Part-time shifts days evenings and weekends. £7.70 per hour for under 25 years old. £8.21 per hour for over 25 years old. Sleepovers £62.64 per night. This role may suit someone who is just looking to get into the social care sector and is looking for experience.
