Overview

Are you a Multi Skilled Engineer with electrical bias 60/40 (elec)? Do you have experience of the nuts & bolts of engineering & the PLC maintenance (B & R machines)? Are you flexible & looking to work 2 days/2 night/4 off? Do you have experience of PM & cleaning of machinery? As a Multi Skilled Engineer you will report directly to the Senior Engineer/Engineering Manager on site. You will be responsible for the completion of work as set by the Senior Engineer/Engineering Manager ensuring that your work is completed in a quality and timely manner. You will provide support in relation to all maintenance tasks and projects being undertaken, including day to day breakdown, PM, equipment updates, new installations, and building/infrastructure upgrades. This role is working on a 24/7 site therefore you must be flexible to work 0700 - 1900 2 days, 1700 - 0700 2 nights & 4 off , with some overtime available, but not mandated & and on-call work to provide cover for emergency breakdowns and shutdown periods. Education & skills: Must possess a recognised qualification relevant to the role (e.g. mechanical or electrical C&G). Skilled in both Electrical and Mechanical trades: Apprenticeship with indentures preferred. Preferred knowledge of other engineering disciplines including pneumatic, hydraulics, steam systems. What will your day look like? To ensure all PPM activities are completed on time as required, feeding back information to the Senior Engineer to improve the PPM system and activities. To work closely with the Engineer on the opposite shift to ensure all handover of ongoing activities is carried out every day, and sharing all other information and practices as required. To provide knowledge and input into continuous improvement of plant, machinery, and maintenance activities. Work with the Senior Engineer and Engineering Manager to identify long running problems and suitable solutions. To ensure that as part of the Engineering team, always look to improve equipment performance, reliability, and running costs for replacement parts and consumables. To undertake repairs to equipment in a safe and timely manner ensuring that Production is constantly updated on progress. To work with the Senior Engineer and Engineering Manager to ensure that contractors are working safely on site and adhering to site Health and Safety rules and procedures. To ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with the Site Health and Safety instructions and the SSG Health and Safety manual, as well as in accordance with relevant engineering standards. To ensure the company assets are maintained to achieve maximum efficiency. To maintain excellent communication between Production staff and co-workers. To maintain knowledge of all spare parts on site for plant. To work within the procedures and standards as determined by the company's written standards. What will you need to be successful in this role? Electrical Installation 18th Edition (is desirable but not essential, Client will support achieving this qualification). Electrical Installation Maintenance. Mechanical Fabrication/Maintenance. Electronic fault finding to component level. High attention to detail. Decision making skills.
