You'll provide support the Chief Data Officer in regards to fostering a culture of data literacy by facilitating and managing data governance controls. You'll lead and manage all company-wide data governance activities and will have responsibility for improving the quality and managing the protection of sensitive data and information assets. You'll focus on establishing and ensuring adherence to an enterprise wide data governance framework for data policies, standards and practices, both at a department and functional area level. The main aim is to achieve the required level of consistency, quality and protection to meet overall business needs. Key duties & responsibilities: Establish and govern an enterprise data governance implementation roadmap, including strategic priorities for the development of information-based capabilities. Role out an enterprise wide data governance framework, with a focus on the improvement of data quality and the protection of sensitive data through modifications to Lowell's behaviour policies and standards, principles, governance metrics, processes, related tools and architecture. Define roles and responsibilities related to data governance and ensure clear accountability for stewardship, taking a risk based approach. Serve as a liaison between IT, Decision Science, Analytics to ensure that data related business requirements for protecting data are clearly defined, communicated, well understood and considered as a part of strategic planning and operational prioritisation. Develop and maintain inventory of the enterprise information maps, including authoritive systems, owners. Facilitate the development and implementation of data quality standards and adoption. Lead senior management, comprising resources from functional areas to achieve their objectives; resolve issues escalated from data governance champions. To make the grade, you'll need the following expertise: Proven track record in defining and implementing data governance frameworks. Strong communication skills used to influence a culture of data literacy. Leadership abilities to inspire and guide all roles involved in data governance initiatives, as well as all constituents whom data touches in any manner. Knowledge and understanding of the relevant information management, data protection and privacy legislation. Knowledge of modern data governance frameworks Ability to multi-task, deal with work within tight / conflicting deadlines and prioritise work appropriately Knowledge and understanding of the importance of confidentiality and Information management and security principles Experience of developing technology transformation strategies and managing the delivery of associated technical services Previous experience as a data governance manager Knowledge of industry leading data quality and data protection management practices. Knowledge of data governance practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets and approaches related to data protection. Demonstrated consulting skills, with change management concepts and strategies, including communication, culture change and performance management system design. Knowledge of risk data architecture and technology solutions. Internally and externally recognised as a subject matter expert that can influence the way things are done.
