The Category Manager will utilise their deep sourcing and supplier management experience to help our customers drive tangible results. The position would act as part of GEP’s Global Delivery Consulting Group and will be responsible for category management services including, but not limited to, Category Strategy development, strategic sourcing, client stakeholder management, supplier performance management, and continuous cost and performance improvement to our strategic clients. Additionally, you will develop and provide category market insight to the GEP’s Category Advisory Groups (CAG’s) team for internal capabilities development. Responsibilities : Building long term category strategies for clients based on a thorough understanding of their current state, and the external market environment Conducting opportunity assessments for new clients or for new addressable areas for existing clients, including budgeting and sourcing wave plans that support overall savings target achievement Using innovative, and category specific procurement levers to drive value for your client Leading all supplier selection and procurement activities (e.g. RFI, RFP, RFQ, Scorecard and Bid Analysis, etc.) Negotiation of supplier contracts utilising client contract templates & procedures Interfacing and communicating with project team, management, and stakeholders, and provide support with respect to Supplier Management/Procurement processes and policies. Ownership of Third Party Vendor performance (SLA’s/KPI’s) and supplier relationship management. Establish metrics, monitor on-going vendor performance, addressing any service failures expeditiously and provide aggregate reporting on supplier performance Cooperating with and contributing to the development of Centre of Excellence (CoE) team(s) Qualifications / Experience : Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative discipline (business/ finance/ economics/ engineering/ mathematics) or equivalent Post-Graduate degree preferred or relevant industry certifications are desired (MCIPS/CPM/CPSM/CSCP/CPIM). Minimum of 5 years of experience in category management, procurement, and/or supply chain function. Including at least 1 - 2 years of experience in IT category Strong customer service orientation Proficiency in MS Office (e.g. Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint) and Procurement software’s such as SAP, Ariba or other ERP systems Key Skills : Fluent English High degree of motivation Ability to prioritise and self-direct Strong business acumen and sound interpersonal skills Excellent communication, analytical, negotiation and problem-solving skills Ability to adapt to the varied corporate cultures and organizational structures of our customers Proven ability to build, manage and foster a team-oriented environment Procurement of contingent labour and managed service models
