Overview
Role: Tax Manager Location: Canterbury, Kent Salary: Dependent on experience This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to experience working in lots of different areas of tax and has a particular interest and focus on Owner Managed Businesses. It would also suit someone who is keen to join a firm where they can make a difference and become a significant member of the team. Key Skills CTA/ATT qualified (preferred but not essential) Experience of working with OMB’s Willingness to get involved in all aspects of taxation including carrying out research where necessary Good letter writing/ report writing skills Role will include: Dealing with tax investigations Attending client meetings/ keeping notes of meetings Writing reports/ letters of advice Technical research Supporting other partners with tax queries on their clients Supporting client marketing of tax services eg tax articles/ blogs Attending client / external events Provide technical support for the compliance staff and review complex tax returns Planning tax efficient profit extraction for OMB’s Review corporate tax returns on more complex cases/ groups Provide advice on structuring property assets tax efficiently IHT planning Transnational support for - land sales/ purchases and company sales/ purchase Implementation of share schemes, typically EMI schemes VAT advice re registrations/ de-registrations/ property matters etc CGT advice and calculations eg PPR claim/ family tax planning Key Attributes: Good team player Ability to develop good working relationships with clients and colleagues Ability to manage workloads and consistently meet client expectations Keen to develop their wider tax skills and experience This vacancy is being managed by Charlotte Roscoe at Spear Recruitment Ltd.
