Overview

The organisation: Our client, based in Retford offers specialist care and support for young adults who have Autism and Learning Difficulties.The service users live in a residential setting and need help to live as independently as possible. There are 10 service users in total and they are an established group of people. The organisation is a long-established provider of quality education and care services to children and young adults, with reports across the board from OFSTED and CQC as good or excellent. The organisation is passionate about their residents living as fulfilled a life as possible. With access to a variety of activities on a daily basis which residents can choose to participate in, including organised trips out, aromatherapy and speech therapy, horticulture and animal husbandry. Community presence is also very important to the organisation and they utilise all amenities available to them as part of everyday life and the running of the home. This ensures that residents are an integral part of the local community and all it has to offer. The Job: You will be working with young adults who need support at their residential homes, it is a 10 bed adult residential home, supporting young adults with LD / ASD and challenging behaviour. Adults are aged 22- 30 and predominantly male residents with a 50/50 mix of verbal and non-verbal. The home is really active, but can be quite challenging at times. In the afternoons and on weekends you will have the opportunity to participate in a range of recreational events and activities. You will also help the service users to develop life skills and grow as people. The role will offer you the chance to build positive and supportive relationships with the young people by meeting their individual physical, emotional and behavioural needs. To be considered for the role, you will need: -Experience working with adults with learning difficulties/Autism or a qualification in care. -Excellent communication Skills -To be comfortable with personal care -To have a passion for working with and caring for people.
