Overview
Halliwell Homes are looking for a Therapeutic Painter and Decorator to join the team based in Greater Manchester . You will join us on a full time, permanent basisand receive a competitive salary of £20,250 – 23,000 per annum (dependant on experience and qualifications) . Halliwell are a social enterprise that offers a clinically informed practice model and therapeutic programme encompassing educational, clinical and residential care services. Our objective is to enhance the psychological wellbeing of children within the ‘looked after children’ sector through our Restorative Parenting Recovery Programme. Our Therapeutic Painter and Decorator will safely, effectively and efficiently undertake planned and remedial decorating works at our eight sites around the Greater Manchester area and four in Stoke-On-Trent in order to support the delivery of the Restorative Parenting Recovery Programme and maintain a therapeutic environment, including repainting walls, minor plasterwork repairs and refurbishing of bedrooms in preparation for new placements. You will visit all sites to undertake a mixture of directed and proactive painting and decorating tasks such as graffiti removal, fence painting, patch repairs, painting and glossing of walls, doors and skirting. The postholder will ensure vacant bedrooms are decorated to specification within agreed timeframes ready for new children joining the programme. Preparing painting surfaces by washing walls, repairing holes, or removing old paint, Mixing, matching, and applying paints and other finishes to various surfaces The Therapeutic Painter and Decorator will also carry out and maintain COSHH Assessments for hazardous substances. Handling planning and preparation work in relation to all painting and decorating in an efficient manner. Preparing the surrounding of any painting and decorating areas by covering with cloth or plastic to prevent messes as well as taping off areas as needed. Moving furniture and equipment as necessary to reach the entire surface of the project.
