Overview
Our client, a global engineering consultancy, is now looking for a Principal Systems Integration Consultant for their teams in London and Birmingham. This is a fantastic opportunity to undertake a leading role in delivering systems integration activities primarily across major UK Rail projects. Principal responsibilities: You will be expected to be able to scope, plan and execute a systems integration approach on projects, and lead on engagement with clients to obtain agreement on proposed plans. You will be experienced in selecting the appropriate tool and techniques to meet the stakeholder and project needs. Delivering systems integration subject matter expert consultancy across specific systems engineering disciplines Providing expert consultancy to guide clients in determining the appropriate level of systems integration support they require to meet their needs and address the project risk and complexity Acting as a technical mentor to junior staff supporting their development as systems integration consultants, proactively identifying opportunities to challenge and stretch individuals to develop skills on projects Key skills/experience needed: You will be an experienced system engineer, ideally with knowledge of rail and across the project lifecycle. Experience in selecting and applying appropriate programme and systems engineering management tools and techniques Experience across: Requirements capture, analysis, management and V&V Interface identification, control and management System architecture development and application to design projects Benefits release planning, defining and managing capability migration A degree in relevant engineering or management discipline Have achieved Chartered status of a relevant professional body Post degree experience in delivering systems integration and programme management in a rail environment, and/or equivalent sector Post degree experience in delivering programme management in a rail environment, and/or equivalent sector Experience outside of Rail will also be considered
