Overview

Agricultural Production Team Leader Location: Derbyshire Salary: £27-33,000 benefits We currently have a vacancy within our Client’s Farming Division for an Assistant Site Manager based in Derbyshire. Reporting to the Site Manager, the successful candidate will assist in ensuring smooth, efficient running of the facility ensuring the most effective utilisation of labour and resources, maintaining and improving the standards of product, quality, hygiene, welfare and overall production performance. Contribute to that department/ add value by developing requisite skills in this area in line with competency framework. There is a requirement for the candidate, following relevant training, to provide out of hours call out cover as per the rota. The role: Plan, direct, and coordinate produce collection and delivery schedules. Assist in formulating & controlling policies for welfare, hygiene and quality. Monitor and improve the process and results. Assess customer requirements and ensure that these are met with respect to deliveries. The role will include writing management reports, recording analysing, and distributing statistical information. Manage and work with operations and hygiene staff to establish procedures, standards and systems. Work in conjunction with the technical function to maintain compliance with Assurance Schemes and Customer COPS. As part of the management team provide operational management cover for the Site Manager & QA Manager. To gain a full understanding of the supply chain Contribute to that department/ add value by developing requisite skills in this area in line with competency framework. To ensure all machinery, equipment, plant and buildings are maintained to the highest standard and report any problems to the engineer including the Manager if necessary. To assist in maintaining 24 hour, 7 days a week alarm cover and weekend management presence on a rota basis. Ensure that the alarm system is adequately maintained and tested regularly. To manage staff in such a way that they progressively improve their performance giving guidance and training when necessary. To organise, control and monitor all stages of production/ delivery such that risks are minimised, and relevant documentation is completed accurately. To work in a manner that actively seeks to reduce any negative environmental impact in relation to the processes and procedures operating within their area and across the wider business e.g. reduction of waste, recycling etc. The person: Previous agricultural production leadership experience, must have had responsibility for at least 15 employees The successful applicant will be self-motivated, able to use their initiative and have good people skills. A desire to excel must be apparent.
