Lean Manufacturing Engineer

Part of a major international group, this organisation is setting up a new manufacturing facility on a 'green field site' to produce complex high value components for the automotive industry. As a Lean Manufacturing / Operational Excellence Engineer your role will be to establish best practice manufacturing processes and methodology to ensure world class productivity and competitiveness can be achieved within a brand new production facility. Position: Lean Manufacturing Engineer Salary: to £45000 - £50000 Location: Telford, Shropshire Main duties and responsibilities: o Implement World Class Manufacturing methods and processes across the site o Develop efficient factory layout and support equipment layout to optimise production flow and minimise unnecessary movement via promotion of Lean Manufacturing methods o Support equipment project timelines and manage on time delivery and buy off o Value Stream Mapping (VSM), 5S, SMED, Poke Yoke, Kaizen, Waste Elimination o Lead and participate in Lean, Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement activity and workshops Knowledge and Education: You will already have a proven track record working as a Manufacturing Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing or delivering Operational Excellence, World Class Manufacturing within a high volume manufacturing facility o HND/Degree in an Engineering related subject o Six Sigma Certification highly desirable o Experience in leading the VA/VE process o In-depth understanding of Lean Manufacturing and process improvement methodologies and how to apply them in practice ( 5S, waste reduction, SMED, VSM, OEE ) o Knowledge of complex product assembly, machining, casting or presswork production processes and related capital machinery The opportunity: This is an excellent opportunity for a Lean Manufacturing Engineer or Continuous Improvement/ Six Sigma professional to be part of a brand new venture, establishing a green field factory development from the ground up.
