Overview
Role: Engineering Technician OR Trainee Technician Salary: £22,000 - £25,000 per annum benefits Hours: Mon - Fri, 8:45am till 5:15pm Location: Crawley, West Sussex Company A manufacturer of high-tech machinery are looking for an additional Technician (or Trainee Technician) to join their highly successful and growing team. This is a very special and unique opportunity to work in a new and purposely build production area, with brand new equipment and machinery. It is a new department that has been launched and will be the future of the company. This opportunity will be one of the first to form part of this team in this new department. Responsibilities Working within a cleanroom, you will cover a broad base of mechanical, electrical and electronic work, including but not limited to; · Building and fine assembly of a range of sub-components. · Precision quality control checks following computer/written production instructions and parameters. · Functionality test of products using testing equipment. · Support with equipment maintenance e.g. swapping out of faulty/worn parts, cleaning jigs/fixtures. · Maintain stock of sub assembly components ready for production. · Work closely with Engineers, offering practical engineered suggestions using skills gained through academic studies. · Working with robotic machinery and equipment. · All necessary tools and fixings must be managed and organised for the assembly station requirements. · Supporting new production equipment. · Keep all workstations and areas clean and tidy, supporting with our 5S Lean Manufacturing tool. · All issues relating to and jeopardising automation performance must be reported immediately. · Supporting all corrective actions to ensure daily targets are not compromised. · Operate at a professional level, taking responsibility for production output. · Picking electrical and mechanical parts. · Support with stock count of parts stored in the Cleanroom and, where required, any investigations or reconciliations. Requirements · Either qualified or currently studying (part time during evenings) in an Engineering discipline. · Some previous experience of assembly or equipment building or wiring skills. · Mechanical OR Electrical OR Electronic background. · Computer literate (e.g. Microsoft word / excel). · Ability to work on own initiative, plan work efficiently and is a logical thinker. · Must have a current full manual driving licence (not provisional). · Must speak clear fluent English.
