Application Engineer Tewkesbury Permanent Full-time £38k - £45k pa depending on experience We are looking for an Application Engineer to join a leading security solutions company, based in Tewkesbury. Working as part of the Sales team, you will provide technical support and liaise among End User Customers, the Sales Team, Distributors Installers, Internal Operations and Product Teams. The ideal candidate would be certified in computing or electronics, familiar with IT systems, and have a background in pre-sales engineering or system integration with a Physical Security product or solution. We are looking for a customer focused individual, who has the ability to engage and communicate with customer contacts. Good time management skills and attention to detail are a must as you must be able to meet project deadlines and be quality orientated. You will ultimately report into the US based Vice President of Enterprise Solutions, but the first six months will be with the UK Technical Support Team under the Vice President's Technical Support. The role involves a fair amount of travelling within the UK & Europe typically but not exclusively and therefore a full UK driving licence will be essential. Responsibilities: " Providing oral and written responses to customers' technical enquiries in a timely and accurate manner. " Providing product training on any of the manufactured products and solutions to Installers Distributors Customers " Providing high quality customer service in line with G4S Technology (t/a AMAG Technology) ethos and policies. " Ensuring accurate information and advice is given to the customers " Having a good understanding of the commercial value and use of a product in order to better assist a customer in determining their business needs. " Providing System designs/quotes for new or expanding systems or additional project work " Leading the proof of concept and pilot projects as part of the sales process. " Being up-to-date with new technologies. This may involve self-learning and a willingness to participate in internal and/or external training courses which may involve out of hours working. " Providing scope of work and functional specifications for handoff on professional services deployments " Assisting the regional Sales and Business Development teams (commercial teams) with all required pre-sales technical support for both end-user customers and reseller partners. " Making presentations of product related functionality to other team members, departments and customers. " Taking ownership of responding to RFP, RFI, RFQ's within their defined region and assisting with other regions as required. " Producing quotations from price lists following the company's procedures. " Participating in the company's Quality program " Contributing to the system lifetime management of an implemented solution Requirements: " Degree level educated - ideally within computing or equivalent experience. " A Microsoft Certification would be beneficial but not essential. " Prior experience across a pre-sales function utilising with a Physical Security product or solution " Basic knowledge of IT systems including Operating Systems, Hardware, Network Infrastructure, and Database systems. " Experience within the security sector would be hugely beneficial " Familiarity with Essential Experience with configuration and design of Access Control, Video Management, and Intrusion Alarm systems. " Analytical skillset that can source the root cause of problems. " Ability to communicate effectively with company stakeholders both in person and over other communication streams " Able to take ownership of a technical project and deliver a solution to a defined timescale. " Ability to work well both collectively and individually " Ability to travel frequently within the UK and overseas travel at short notice with period of travel of up to 2 weeks in duration a requirement. " Full UK driving licence.
