Overview
Due to expansion, our client based in Sandy, a successful manufacturer of Special Purpose Machinery, currently has a new opportunity for a Quality and Continuous Improvement Manager. This is a newly created role, with the main purpose to ensure the continual quality improvement within the company. The role will include the setting of quality controls and guidelines across the various processes that directly impact upon the output quality of deliverables to our customers. As such the QM will look at the effectiveness of processes from Sales through Technical and Design onto Production, Test and Commissioning. The role will also cover servicing and spares management processes. The QM will be responsible for driving agreed Quality Objectives throughout the business. Key Responsibilities: ·Carry out Process Effectiveness Assessments and provide recommendations for improvement (e.g. Sales handover of Specifications to Design). ·Assessing the Quality of deployed processes through walkarounds, formal internal auditing, attendance at customer or supplier reviews and other meetings / forums where Quality is on the agenda. ·Managing the Non-Conformance process with key focus on root cause analysis and effective corrective actions. ·Introduce in-line testing of critical components during the manufacturing process - both in house and where sub-contracted. ·Analyse Quality Data Inputs and Outputs to assess Quality trends and drive associated preventive actions that will reduce the risks of poor quality. ·Introduce and maintain a robust Change Control Process. ·Certification Body Audits - including ISO9001 Experience Required: Minimum 5 years Quality Management experience within a production engineering environment ·IT literate with good knowledge of MS Outlook, Word and Excel ·Ability to read technical engineering drawings Comprehensive working knowledge of ISO9001 Ideally you will have experience working with MRP systems, although this is not an essential For more information on this excellent opportunity, please click the apply button or call Mark Burton on 01733 802600.
