PLC Software Engineer – Permanent – North Staffordshire - £30-40k – Allen Bradley / Rockwell and/or Siemens Systems Samuel Frank Associates is now recruiting for a PLC Software Engineer to join a systems integrator based in North Staffordshire. Key technical aspects of the PLC Software Engineer position include – Minimum 5 years’ experience of implementing industrial control systems (Compact Logix and/or SLC500 PLCs or Siemens classic S7/TIA Portal Good knowledge of hardware/software level interfacing Implementation of communications protocols (Profibus/Devicenet/TCP/IP, serial communication, OPC etc.) Good working knowledge of PCs and Windows Operating Systems Key responsibilities of the PLC Software Engineer position include – Creating & working from design specifications Planning of software development timescales Design and implementation of PLC code. Development and improvement of new & existing PLC Control Systems Testing & debugging PLC code Supporting external customers & systems This position requires excellent technical and interpersonal skills, flexibility and the ability to communicate effectively. A flexible, 'can do' approach is also important in this team focused culture. You will have a problem-solving mind set and be self-motivated with the desire to learn new skills. You will also be comfortable working within a small team, or alone, if required and have a full UK driving licence.
