Risk and Compliance Specialist We are excited to be supporting one of the UK’s leading fee-free mortgage brokers in the search for an experienced Risk and Compliance Specialist to join the team in their central Bath office. The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Risk & Compliance specialist to join our client’s expanding Business Unit Control Function (BUCF) Team based in Bath. The role will sit within their 1 st line of defence, within their operations function where you will be playing a pivotal role in providing assurance to the business that the Mortgage and Protection Advisers are adhering to relevant procedure, regulatory requirements, policies and are providing excellent customer outcomes. One of the integral parts of this role would be providing support to create and execute a Control Testing schedule, so any experience within a control testing environment is extremely desirable. You will also be undertaking monitoring activities, and testing controls to ensure they are proactively mitigating risk to both customers and the business. You will also be working as part of the Business Unit Control Function (BUCF), helping to support all areas of the business that interact with customers. You will be working with colleagues to undertake control testing and quality assurance activity. This will include the likes of assessing any emerging risks and control effectiveness using their risk management systems, as well as providing risk advice. Ideally, you will have a good understanding of monitoring and control testing, with the ability to effectively apply this knowledge. Alongside this, you will have good analytical skills, with the ability to interpret, identify and report trends or any anomalies in the risk data. You will have strong planning skills and be able to prioritise and manage your workload effectively and have the capability to deliver to agreed deadlines. It would be highly desirable if you have previous experie nce with the Financial Services sector, where you would have gained an understanding of regulatory and legislative requirements. If you have any experience of the mortgage and protection environment market, this would also be extremely advantageous.
