Overview
Mechanical/Product Design Engineer: An excellent career opportunity with the UK’s largest specialist installer of vehicle adaptations for disabled people. As a result of continued business success and increasing demand for their products, they are seeking an experienced Design Engineer who will be utilising 3D CAD software to provide bespoke design solutions. Solidworks but other CAD software considered. Design Engineer Requirements: · You will have a solid engineering background, possessing a Degree or HND equivalent experience. Ideally with at least 2/3 years’ experience. · Should be able to demonstrate a high level of commitment, flexibility and enthusiasm as well as a sense of urgency, flexibility, ownership of projects and a good awareness of engineering. · The ability to communicate clearly, across all levels is a pre-requisite. · Knowledge of specialist equipment is an advantage but exposure to various industries will be considered. Design Engineer Role: · The role is diverse and will encompass all aspects of design, project managing the process and working closely with the installation and manufacturing teams. · Able to work with an existing small design team to design new products and update existing products. · Demonstrates creativity and innovation · Confident designing from an initial design proposal and being able to produce 3D and 2D cad models. · Awareness of cost implications for full component life cycle. · Demonstrates ability to take responsibility for the design/development of products · Capable of working from engineering brief. · Continues to learn demonstrable new skills and apply them within workplace. · Ability to positively represent the group to both suppliers and customers if needed.
