Overview

DevOps Engineer, Dorset, £40-60k. Fast-Growth Ecommerce Business, Modern Tooling. DevOps Engineer (Ecommerce) Dorset £40000 - £60000 Benefits Please note my client cannot offer VISA sponsorship for this position. Your new company I've been engaged by a fast-growing Ecommerce business to recruit a DevOps Engineer to work from their modern head office location in Dorset. It's a really unique opportunity working for an online technology first organisation that are looking to challenge some of the biggest names in industry. The role is open to someone with commercial DevOps experience, working in a hands-on capacity to 'tin and wire' level. There is parking on site and it's commutable from all of Dorset easily by car. Your new role The scope of the role is wide. It will be a standalone position to start with so you'll cover both the setup and configuration of the development/database environments, alongside maintenance of a Linux cluster and a general implementation of processes to optimise performance for them. There's likely to be infrastructure migrations and you will bring the estate up to modern day standards. You'll be working in a small but hugely talented team and will naturally be involved in the entire lifecycle of projects. You do not need all the experience from day 1, but you will possess a proactive attitude and a confidence to take ownership and make executive decisions, understanding that it doesn't go right every time, but to iterate are learn. What you'll need to succeed This role would suit someone with a grasp of modern DevOps concepts. You must have Linux SysAdmin experience and will have worked with Cloud technologies, namely AWS. You'll have an influence on the tools introduced, so there is a great chance to work at the sharp edge of technology including Docker, K8s, Ansible and a comprehensive CI/CD pipeline. It's an Agile team that encourages collaboration and sharing knowledge on site. Wider knowledge of scripting languages or infrastructure / networking will serve you well. What you'll get in return The company offers good flexibility both in terms of working hours, and some home working when necessary. There's no micromanagement here. Joining at this stage you'll have a chance to share in the profits when the company delivers growth. They are a very supportive employer and will fund courses, qualifications and conferences to improve your skill set.
