Overview

This leading pharmaceutical services company is looking to fill the position of Laboratory Support Team Leader. Reporting to the Laboratory Director and working alongside group Procurement you will be responsible for the provision, maintenance and delivery of laboratory services. You will take the lead on all aspects of Facilities Management and be part of the team that aims to deliver on an optimum configuration of Rapid Response Laboratory and Core Laboratory facilities for the organisation. By reducing facility downtime you will contribute to a robustness of service that will ultimately improve patient pathways. Key Responsibilities Being the first response for any equipment maintenance to include logging faults, repairing minor faults with telephone support, arranging for spare parts when needed, following up with the manufacturers to ensure optimum performance Equipment: Cyclical maintenance - ensuring programs are adhered to, informing teams if maintenance visits and anticipated equipment downtime Equipment Calibration - logging issues, liaising with support, updating logs of calibration activity, Point of Care Testing and Anticoagulation Testing Service Equipment Stock and Procurement - agreeing and publishing minimum stock levels to determine when stock is low and needs reordering, physically counting and checking stock, logging deliveries and checking units on system Laboratory Support Personnel Management - providing direct, line-management contact for the FM Operation Support staff s well as reviews and delegating duties and providing performance feedback. Identify and assist with Changes to Facilities Experience Required The successful candidate will ideally have a IBMS-accredited Biological Sciences degree or equivalent qualification in pathology disciplines as well as some theoretical and practical knowledge in all disciplines of pathology relevant to its multidisciplinary nature. Previous experience in a relevant laboratory, and proficiency in techniques appropriate to the discipline are essential. You must have excellent organisational skills and be highly detail minded. The ability to prioritise and remain calm when working under pressure is important. The ideal applicant will be well presented, professional and demonstrate a customer focused attitude. Strong communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with team members and Managers is key.
