Overview
Your new company You will be joining this exciting and very well-established company in Glasgow who are at the cutting edge of technology and machine learning and have an exciting job opportunity for an experienced Big Data Engineer to join their Data & BI team. Your new role You will design, implement and optimise processes to ingest data from a variety of sources including IoT devices using big data technologies. You will also Identify and implement optimum data lake storage format, retrieval methods and technologies, and provide data and support to a wider team of Data Scientists & BI Developers You will be working with high velocity data and supporting a key growth area of the company by assisting with ground-breaking BI and Artificial Intelligence use cases. What you'll need to succeed You will be experienced in Azure Data Lakes, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Python/PySpark or Scala. You should also be skilled in Data Pipeline, design & optimisation of Data Lake File Storage & Data Lakes for real time analytics and be able to demonstrate time management, planning and organisation. You will be ideally qualified to degree level or have the equivalent experience in a relevant IT field, and experience of IoT & streaming data, traditional & Azure Data Warehouse and ETL development would be desirable as would SQL Server, CosmosDB, Agile methodologies & JIRA.
