Overview

As a Principal Consultant, you will report to an Associate Director within a collaborative team and open office environment. A key part of this role is winning and delivering work as well as providing leadership, mentorship and technical advice for junior team members and you will need to have experience of traffic modelling and transport planning. Job Duties As a Principal Consultant, you will be an important member of our Transport Planning and Modelling team in the South East. You will specify and manage transport planning projects and programmes, providing advice and support and exploring business opportunities. You will lead workstreams within projects with limited supervision, ensuring that best practice techniques are applied consistently. You will also contribute to the production and delivery of larger proposals and bids related to our market area from time to time and lead on smaller proposals and bids. Mininmum requirements: Extensive knowledge of traffic microsimulation modelling software, preferably Vissim Familiarity with TfL MAP and WebTAG guidance, and in-depth experience of significant model development Extensive data analysis and processing skills Relevant BSc/MSc/BEng Civil Engineering or Transport planning degree Use of other junction modelling software such as LinSig and TRANSYT Experience and understanding of traffic engineering and junction design principals Experience of line management and small to medium team management Supervision of workload and support to junior staff Client contact and liaison without supervision Leadership in producing reports to a high technical standard Passionate about delivering high quality modelling projects for our clients. Excellent numeracy, verbal and written communication skills.
