Technical Manager

The Opportunity Drummond Bridge is delighted to be retained by a leading FMCG organisation to recruit a Technical Manager. Reporting directly to the Operations Director you will be responsible for managing and leading all technical aspects for the business to support the development and delivery of a cohesive operational strategy in line with business objectives and the needs of the organisation’s customer base. Responsibilities As Technical Manager you will be tasked with managing all technical activity across the organisations site including quality, HSE, engineering and operations. You will also be key in driving continuous improvement initiatives throughout the technical function. You will also be responsible for the following: Develop close working relationships with all key management teams to ensure targets are met Ensure all technical activity is prioritised appropriately & completed in a timely manner To monitor, review and respond to all Technical statistical trends to ensure production stays within specifications Evaluate & monitor supplier performance with the Purchasing function to ensure potential issues are identified and options for resolution are developed Be a key member of the senior management team, reporting team activity and metrics to S&OP / board groups Drive cost reduction projects throughout the technical function Manage and deliver key projects from a technical point of view Who We Are Looking For We are looking to speak with dynamic and forward-thinking Technical experts who have extensive experience of working in fast paced and demanding manufacturing environments. You will also have experience in driving improvements throughout a Technical function. You will also possess the following: Highly motivated Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Strong numerical skills, particularly statistical analysis Experience of FMCG environment for over 10 years Experience of industry regulatory requirements Experience of quality techniques Experience of managing a multi-functional team Experience of leading process change Pet food experience welcome but not essential Educated to degree level in science or engineering This job was originally posted as www.totaljobs.com/job/89839669
