Overview

We have a vacancy for a Leader of Learning (Head of Department) within Key Stage 3, with whole school responsibility for PSHE (including SRE and Online Safety) and Computing. The successful candidate will become part of Foreland Fields School Leadership Team. Foreland Fields is a specialist school based in a new state-of-the-art building. The school offers excellent on site facilities including specialist rooms and a hydrotherapy pool. The school caters for 220 pupils aged 2 – 19 years. Foreland Fields School is innovative and forward thinking, placing great emphasis on the development of all staff in order to ensure the best possible outcomes for pupils. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic teacher with proven leadership and interpersonal skills, who aspires to excellence whilst also relishing a challenge. Successful candidates will have either previous management experience or will be ready to make the move into school leadership. They will contribute to the improvement and development of learning within Key Stage 3, and play a major role in shaping the future of our school. In addition to weekly PPA, the post holder will receive further non-contact time to undertake Leader of Learning responsibilities The successful candidate will: be seeking an exciting new challenge in their career. have exceptional interpersonal skills and experience of managing people and / or projects. have had experience of strategic planning and decision making. be a committed and enthusiastic practitioner with a proven track record of good and outstanding teaching. have knowledge and experience of teaching students with learning difficulties and Autistic Spectrum Disorder. be familiar with, or have experience of, multi-disciplinary working within a school setting.
