Data Technician - Permanent Opportunity - Cheltenham - Up To £32k DOE Your new company A nationally operating Software business located in a convenient Cheltenham area. Your new role This is a key role requiring an individual: ? Purpose: You will have a responsive role in receiving instructions and gathering requirements from business staff and customers, in processing data, in installing and assisting to configure software, setting up user interfaces and providing first-line client support, most often from businesses' office, for clients remotely via web communication technology and occasionally on client sites. Key tasks The role will require the post-holder to work sometimes with colleagues and sometimes independently, to 1. Pre-sales: Under the direction of Business Sales & Marketing Director: 1.1 Prepare suitable NetSuite demonstration accounts to illustrate how prospect requirements can be met 2. Post-sales: Under the guidance of Business CIO and/or Lead Developer: 2.1 Following Business data management and import processes, manipulate data to meet import requirements and import data to NetSuite software applications 2.2 Setting up HTML, PDF/XML templates, screen forms/fields, dashboards, roles and user interfaces to meet provided specifications 2.3 Provide regular reports to line manager of project progress against timescales and customer expectations 2.4 Provide first line of support answering Frequently Asked Questions relating to basic NetSuite and Business as required at customer sites 2.5 Run point-and-click software testing - usually taking direction from development/test lead with prepared test specifications for complex testing 2.6 Run NetSuite new release testing - validate Business apps and customisations bi-annually within the new version of NetSuite 2.7 Maintain good working relationships with customers through the customer lifecycle. 3. Development opportunities: As the post holder develops into the role 3.1 Creation of PDF/XML Template to support Business Customer and Internal Requirements 3.2 Light scripting in JavaScript (SuiteScript) and Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) 3.3 Support Business Professional Service and Implementation Teams with installations and configurations 3.4 Supporting Customer System Integrations during Development, Roll-out and into the future. The above are the main responsibilities of the role; it is likely that other work will be required in supporting the organisation's activities and that the role will develop over time to suit the changing needs of the business. A flexible approach by the role holder to developing and contributing to the growth of the business will be a prime requirement for success in this role. What you'll need to succeed Experience (Essential) ? Microsoft Word ? Microsoft Excel ? Using Web Browsers (Chrome, Firefox, IE, Edge, Brave, Safari) ? Evidence of a passion and involvement with software and technology. (Beneficial) ? Experience of HTML, VBA or JavaScript ? Experience using NetSuite Software ? Experience software testing ? Experience developing/coding software programme(s). Personal skills and style The role requires someone who 1.
