Job Title: Software Engineer Salary: Up to £40,000 Contract: Permanent Work Pattern: 37.5 Hours Per Week Location: Castlefield, Manchester Come and join our expanding digital department - working collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary agile team alongside product managers, user researchers and designers to deliver real value to both our customers and the business As our new Software Engineer you will use your skills to develop and operate digital software products to meet and enhance the experiences of our customers. What you'll do: Build and operate digital services to meet customer needs, taking responsibility for the quality of code you produce Implement engineering solutions as directed by Senior Engineers and the Engineering Lead Develop software by using a full stack approach, working on both the front and back end applications of development Participate in our in-house support, and potentially out-of-hours support rota Use modern engineering practices like TDD, pair programming and continuous deployment Share knowledge of tools and techniques with your wider team, both developers and non-developers Use knowledge to contribute to problem and issue resolution in the wider digital team Problem Solving & Change Make day-to-day decisions on software design and development based on customer needs and feedback. Develop tried-and-tested technology components, platforms and tools that enable others to build reliable, usable digital products.
