Overview

Manual Turning - Milling - Boring - Manchester Manual (non-CNC) Turning, Milling and Borer machinists (NON-CNC) wanted for busy, highly respected, electro-mechanical engineering business in Manchester. You will have opportunities to enhance your skill set with training in electro-mechanical services and overtime when workload allows. Growing demand for mechanical engineering from clients has led to a requirement for additional Manual Machining Engineers with good experience of manual / conventional Turning, Milling and/or Borer machines. Experience as a toolmaker would be an advantage, but not essential. Hours of work are 8am - 4.30pm Mon- Fri, with overtime available at time and a half and double time, and 24-hour emergency standby call-out 1 weekend in 5 during busy periods. Duties will include: Dismantling and assembly Shaft repairs, housing repairs, metal spraying, welding General bench fitting duties Measuring Assess and evaluate rotating machines Testing components Balancing skills an advantage Skills & Experience Required: A relevant qualification / apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering Experience with manual (non-CNC) turning - lathes, milling and boring machines Use of callipers, verniers etc Dismantle and repair of rotating machines Driving Licence with no more than 6 points The company offer a competitive basic hourly rate circa £14-£15/hr depending on experience, and overtime at 1.5 and 2x basic rate leading to an OTE of £30,000-£40,000 pa depending on overtime worked.
