Overview
Role To ensure legal and regulatory requirements are met, accurate service charges and statements of accounts are produced and regular liaison with internal and external auditors. Reporting to the Head of Rents & Service Charges Responsible for 5 Finance Officers Key Responsibilities: Ensure accurate and timely service charge estimates and statement of accounts are produced for all service charges, liaising with operational teams as required. Ensure your team are supported through coaching, development, training, advice and guidance. Lead an effective and efficient rent and service charge accounting service across the company. Ensure social, shared owner and fair rents are reviewed in accordance with legal and regulatory requirement. Manage controls to monitor actual performance of service charges against estimates, analysing variances and taking corrective action, escalating issues as appropriate. Lead the effective delivery of leasehold accountancy reviews and audits and resolve all queries effectively and within required timescales. Essential experience: Experience of working in the social housing sector and with all tenure types. Experience of rent and service charge applications and systems. Knowledge of rent and service charge regulation and legislation. Proven customer service experience. Proven line management experience. Proven experience of preparing management accounts.
