Overview

IT Operations Engineer A world-leading integrated security company with over 25,000 UK employees are looking for an IT Operations Engineer. You will be laying a strategic role in maintaining all cloud and on-premises systems including the Front End platforms, Servers, storage, and management networks as well as providing application support to customers using the in-house developed EMA focusing on operational aspects. Some of what you will be doing: Regularly evaluating cloud applications and architecture Developing, organising and maintaining cloud systems Working closely with IT security to monitor the company's cloud privacy Responding to technical issues in a professional and timely manner Offering guidance in infrastructure techniques including application transfers to cloud Identifying and scoping cloud architecture solutions to successfully meet customer requirements Ensuring all IT systems function within the parameters of the SLAs Maintaining and monitoring server infrastructure and test environmentsInstalling and testing new products and enhancements to existing products in both test and live environments Diagnosing and resolving of all system faults and failures in accordance with published SLA's and in a customer focused manner Escalating of appropriate faults, failures and modification requests to the relevant parties, ensuring timely and appropriate responses in accordance with any existing service contracts Engaging as part of rollout team for projects Maintaining up-to-date technical skills to perform the role in a dynamic business environment Providing support, development and administration for server-based Systems, support and administration for security systems. Working closely with all parts of the business, owning support tickets to resolution as well as helping develop the skills within the IT Helpdesk Team Creating and updating system documentation and knowledge bases Ideally, your skills and experience will include: A great understanding of cloud computing and technology systems Good documentation and report writing skills Windows Server 2012/16 Active Directory Being comfortable working on own initiative and as part of a team Experience working in a project-based environment Relevant experience as a systems administrator in a systems operations role Ability to work with virtualization technology Experience in monitoring and auditing systems Knowledge of networking concepts (eg, DNS, TCP/IP, and Firewalls) Ability to translate architectural requirements, Ability to deploy, manage, and operate scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems Know how to implement and control the flow of data, to and from a service provider Capability to select the appropriate services based on compute, data, or security requirements Ability to estimate usage costs and identify operational cost control mechanisms Capability to migrate on-premises workload to cloud service providers It would be great if you also had: AWS Certified Solutions Architect ISO27001 experience ITIL knowledge ICSI, CIP MCITP, MCSE, MCTS TSQL Querying for data retrieval
