SOFTWARE ENGINEERING MANAGER - EXCITING FINTECH COMPANY. EASILY COMMUTABLE FROM LIVERPOOL, WARRINGTON, CHESHIRE, SOUTH MANCHESTER, WIRRAL. NEW ROLE DUE TO GROWTH WITH AN INCREDIBLE BUSINESS. The Role As part of their continued growth, our client is opening a dedicated Technology and Innovation Centre and are looking for a Software Engineering Manager. This is a senior role within the Development function, and is to replace the current incumbent who is being promoted. Experience of leading more than one development team concurrently is essential for this role. Responsibilities include: Lead, manage and deliver Engineering projects through Development teams Organise, coordinate and prioritise project delivery by agreeing activities and timescales, ensuring teams know what is expected Ensure that processes are managed in a controlled environment, reducing error rates Develop relationships across the business, understanding what internal customers need from the Engineering team and working towards delivering a high level of service Actively manage upwards to ensure Head of Engineering is aware of issues, risks and opportunities Coach Development Managers to improve leadership skills and build an effective leadership team Seek opportunities to improve current processes to deliver enhanced performance Step up to cover for the Head of Engineering as and when required Skills Required Experienced people manager, demonstrating competence in managing multiple teams with diverse priorities Effective project manager, building relationships with stakeholders and capturing/managing to business requirements Able to write software Flexible, adaptable and able to deal with ambiguity Thrives leading and working in a collaborative team working environment Enjoys working at pace Customer centric mindset with a can-do attitude High degree of personal integrity, honesty and professionalism Technical Stack: Java and object oriented design, enterprise systems, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, SOAP, Angular 2 (5.x), Enterprise Integration Patterns, Microservices/SOA, OAuth2, PostgreSQL, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS/cloud service providers, DevOps experience, agile.
