Overview
Our client is looking for an experienced maintenance operative to support with all maintenance tasks across their production sites in East Sussex. A full driving license is required alongside experience driving a transit van. The successful candidate will be experienced in carpentry, plumbing, patch plastering, and tiling. Responsibilities: To ensure that all sites are maintained to the highest possible standards at all times, both internally & externally. Take responsibility for the security of all buildings, including key control and call outs. A current full UK Driving Licence will be required for this position to enable travel to and from company properties and to attend out of hours alarm callouts. Maintenence experience must include: Basic carpentry Basic plumbing Internal painting & decorating Plaster patching Wall and floor tiling Moving furniture, as and when required General maintenance and upkeep of all areas Window cleaning Floor cleaning and vinyl buffing as scheduled. Floor vinyl polish removal and re-polishing as scheduled (training will be given). Lawn mowing and trimming, weekly from March to September and as required during the winter months. Treat all weeds with appropriate chemicals. Window cleaning Painting and minor repair to buildings & fixings Maintain picnic & garden areas, including emptying litter bins Sweeping the sites at least once a week with yard sweeping machine. Roof maintenance, including investigating leaks, removal of litter, blockages, etc. Use magnet trolley in yards daily to remove nails etc. Maintain lubrication of external locks and padlocks Additional responsibilities include: Covering cleaner duties for general site cleanliness, as and when required, at any site applicable. Weekly testing of Fire Alarm systems Checking all building heating systems are working as required. Assisting with building refurbishments as required. To ensure Maintenance vehicles are cleaned and fuelled regularly. Ensure all chemicals are stored correctly within COSSH Ensure all maintenance department rooms are kept clean and tidy Ensure all tools and machinery are correctly stored and maintained. Skills Required: Ability to create a maintenance schedule, Ability to troubleshoot, Knowledge of structure or grounds to be maintained, Knowledge of maintenance procedures, Knowledge of systems to be maintained (e.g. Electrical, roofing, pool), Ability to lift heavy loads, Physical agility, Manual dexterity, Management experience is preferred, Experience in maintenance is required, Some positions need a master's degree in facility management or a related field.
