Overview
GIS Information / Technician Role Responsibilities 1. Collecting and recording asset data, monitoring and maintenance of highway records / Community Housing/Parks & Open Spaces and associated asset management systems. 2. Capture of a range of location and condition based information such as highway extent, new and maintenance schemes, structures, cycle routes, traffic regulation orders, rights of way and associated infrastructure in the field using a range of tools including GPS. 3. Digitise paper based maps and records to complement existing and develop new GIS datasets. 4. Interpret and analyse data using GIS to identify patterns to support and assist project delivery and reporting. 5. Work with the authority’s GIS Manager to support the development of web-based applications and tools to present and maintain GIS information on our corporate website and internal intranet site. 6. Providing general support through the manipulation and conversion of information held across multiple systems, identifying solutions to aid process efficiency and data management.
