The Role: Product Engineer As a Product Engineer , you will be responsible for the development of our sensing hardware from prototype through to production. As a member of a multi-disciplinary team, you will be working on one or more products. In collaboration with other members of the team you will design, build and test components and systems that lead to reliable and cost-effective solutions. You will continue to progress these designs into a product fit for large-scale production. Work at Milkalyser is varied: One moment you will be in the workshop, investigating and fixing a problem, and the next you will be part of a team session going through feedback and reviewing requirements. At other times, you may be finalising design details or visiting a test farm to conduct measurements and assess the functioning of the system in person Duties & Responsibilities: Ensuring completeness and correct description of design requirements Designing / refining components and assemblies, with a focus on end-product practicality Building and testing prototypes in collaboration with external suppliers Investigating technical issues in collaboration with other members of the team, both in the workshop and on test farms Selecting and maintaining contact with suppliers regarding the design and the possibilities for improvement Developing the design towards production-readiness and transferring the design to manufacturing companies for production Communicating progress, flagging up problems and risks, and contributing to project planning Preparing technical documentation for installers and field technicians What We Need from You: Above all we’re looking for a candidate with a hands-on mentality, keen to get to grips with a range of activities with flexibility and commitment Essential: MSc in mechanical engineering or industrial design, plus several years of relevant work experience Experience in the technical design and refining of products in cooperation with suppliers Experience with CAD systems (ideally Creo) Experience in taking a product from concept to production Good communication skills Desirable: Experience with CAD Creo systems Knowledge of hygienic design and expertise in the associated legislation and regulations would be an asset Benefits: Excellent employment conditions 28 days paid leave An open working environment Flexible working hours Freedom in the organisation of your work Within this role, you can make a difference and be genuinely valuable to the organisation while pursuing your own personal development.
