Overview

My client is a renowned engineering consultancy actively looking for a Senior Rail Engineer to work on a permanent basis out of their Manchester or York office, working on major rail projects. You will be working in an office composed of highly skilled engineering professionals, in an excellent environment for personal/career development, working on projects such as the transpennine electrification. The role forms a key position providing civil engineering skills and technical knowledge of railway design and operations input into single- and multidisciplinary projects. You will be responsible for: production, checking, and approval of detailed railway designs and calculations within an implementation project. producing or checking: preliminary and detailed railway Civils layouts; technical studies and reports; generation and evaluation of technical design options; design calculations and analysis; specialised report writing and interfacing with other disciplines. The work may also include concept design, feasibility design and operations. The post offers scope for personal skill development, especially in relation to increasing railway design expertise financial and people management interacting with and advising other Engineers, Managers, Clients and reporting on work progress, bids and strategic delivery co-ordination across our sub region offices Skills UK rail experience. Knowledge of structural, geo-technical. Civil design principals. MicroStation, Inrail, CleaRoute, TerraModelling skills preferred. Able to work well as part of a team within railway and civil engineering projects and supportive to the other Railway group disciplines Qualifications: Civil engineering degree.
