QC Laboratory Technician

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work for a global manufacturer of building and construction material, as a QC Laboratory Technician based in Welwyn Garden City. As a QC Laboratory Technician you will be responsible for maintaining a consistently high quality of manufactured products, ensuring they are fully compliant to various international standards and regulations. You will assist in the analysis and testing within the Research & Development function area, performing raw material, in-process and product testing. To be considered for this QC Laboratory Technician, you will have a minimum of a HNC in Chemistry or closely related subject, ideally a BSc. You will also have previous experience of working as a QC or Laboratory Technician within the building materials, chemicals or polymers manufacturing sector. Someone who has performed qc testing on cementous materials would be highly desirable. Key Responsibilities Carry out quality control process within both operations and laboratory environments. Perform raw materials, in process and end product testing efficiently and to the highest standard. Advise on corrective actions to maintain manufactured products within specification. Carry out investigation reports, and perform 'Right first time' audits. Assist in the formulation of new quality control specifications. Knowledge and Experience Minimum HNC in Chemistry or closely related subject, ideally a BSc in Chemistry. Previous QC experience working within the building materials, chemicals or polymer manufacturing sector. Strong working knowledge of MS Office, in particular MS Excel.
