Overview
Cummins Engines in Darlington have a maintenace opportnity to join their team of skilled maintenance technicians to achieve delivery against your teams’ key goals – throughput, safety, cost, quality, delivery and plant equipment performance. You will be responsible for completing breakdown and routine maintenance tasks as well as actively engaging in improvement work. Responsibilities: A combination of proactive and reactive maintenance work in order to keep the plant running effectively & efficiently. Responsible for a wide range of maintenance duties including maintenance of assembly, process machinery & site services as well as PLC fault finding. Ensuring that any breakdowns are remedied quickly and effectively to ensure line stoppages are kept to a minimum. Working with a team of technicians on shifts, providing support around the clock, often working in small numbers, with limited supervision with responsibility for prioritizing your own work. Particular attention must be paid to safety, assessing risks before commencing works. Required Qualifications NVQ Level 3 in Maintenance and Operations or similar. Preferred HNC in Maintenance and Operations or similar. Skills and Experience Strong fault finding and rectification abilities. Experience of working to a planned preventative maintenance schedule. Sound electrical, mechanical & pneumatics skills. Knowledge of PLC control systems (Siemens S7 would be an advantage). Familiar with working on servo drive systems. Experience of working with robotic systems and the ability to determine and implement improvements. Other companies might call this role a Maintenance Engineer, Plant Maintenance Engineer.
