Vacancy: Production Manager Location: Annan Job family: Manufacturing. Johnson Matthey have a fantastic opportunity for a Production Manager to join their team in Annan. The purpose of the role is to manage site production teams to meet the planned manufacturing schedule and ensuring all activities are carried out in accordance with relevant cGMP and EHS standards. Key responsibilities: · Manage the day-to-day operations in the manufacturing areas on site. Ensure production schedules and targets are met within the operating budget. Foster a customer focus culture across the Production team. · Motivate, coach and manage the Production Team Leaders to ensure the effective management of the production teams, including performance management, absence, discipline and grievance management. Resource plan with Team Leaders in advance to ensure adequate manning of the shift teams including provision of 'cover’ as required. · Embed a continuous improvement culture across the production teams. Enable teams to identify opportunities for improvement and support / lead where necessary the implementation of actions to support these. · To ensure that all activities in the manufacturing areas are carried out accordance with statutory requirements. · To ensure that all activities in the manufacturing are carried in compliance with Environmental, Health and Safety policies and procedures and drive high standards to create a positive EHS culture where all incidents and accident are reported. · Actively maintain safe control of work and control of change within the production areas and engage the production teams to ensure that process safety standards are adhered to. · To ensure that all activities in the manufacturing areas are carried in compliance with Quality Assurance policies and procedures and that CAPA’s, deviations and investigations are promptly dealt with. · To ensure economic use of materials, energy and services; proposing and implementing measures for efficiency and waste minimisation. · To ensure manufacturing team members are adequately trained; identify, plan and co-ordinate training and development as necessary. Work in partnership with Team Leaders to monitor the progress of New Starts to ensure they are fully competent within a reasonable timeframe. · To oversee maintenance of production documentation and compliance to good documentation policies. · To participate in process safety risk assessments and help develop safe operating practices to support plant operations, identify hazards, and provide solutions to areas that can potentially cause health, safety and Environmental hazards. · To work as a member of the site management team to ensure optimum deployment of resources. Are you the ideal candidate? You will have: · At least 5 years’ experience in manufacturing and production operations · Proven leadership and management skills and experience · Experience within a cGMP manufacturing environment · Good working knowledge of plant capabilities and working practices
