Overview

Overall Purpose of the Post: The Delivery Coordinator will: Provide an efficient, effective and accurate delivery and collection service to users in receipt of health and/or social care equipment across the Wakefield district; Provide a professional and accurate installation, fitting and demonstration service ensuring users, families and or carers understand the safe use of equipment; Make emergency equipment deliveries and/or collections as requested to meet the needs of the service and ensure hospital discharges can be facilitated and hospital admissions can be prevented. Assist with stock control and general warehouse duties. Assist with cleaning and decontamination of equipment; and Carry out LOLER testing of equipment as per regulations and complete records where necessary. Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent. Essentials: Current Driving License Excellent knowledge of Moving and Handling techniques. Excellent knowledge of Health and Safety including risk assessments and visual risk assessments. Excellent knowledge of Customer Service concepts, principles and techniques and a commitment to respond to customer needs and proactively manage expectations. Excellent knowledge of logistics. Excellent knowledge of Infection control procedures. Understanding of Stock Management controls and techniques Excellent knowledge of effective team working. Understanding and knowledge of data protection, information governance and working in a confidential and sensitive environment. Substantial and proven experience of driving fleet vehicles including tail-lifts Evidence of working within a warehouse or stores environment Substantial experience of communicating confidently and building strong working relationships with staff from various levels, partners and the public. Experience of working as part of a team and working on own initiative and dealing with the unexpected. Ability to handle heavy (25kg) equipment Ability to adapt to new environments and changing situations. Ability to complete work to a high degree of accuracy. Ability to build and dismantle equipment to a high degree of accuracy. Ability to deal with distressing and emotionally demanding situations; Ability to work methodically; Ability to work alone or as a team member; Ability to be flexible and respond to changing situations Ability to champion new ways of working and display a positive can do attitude. Key Outcomes/ Activities The duties and responsibilities highlighted in this Job Specification are indicative and may vary over time. Post holders are expected to undertake other duties and responsibilities relevant to the nature, level and scope of the post and the grade has been established on this basis. To provide an efficient and effective delivery and collection service to users in receipt of health and/or social care equipment across the Wakefield district. To ensure allocated work is completed within specified time deadlines. To competently utilise appropriate IT hardware and systems as and where necessary to ensure equipment is recorded as delivered, collected, within stores or infection control. To fully demonstrate the functionality and fitting of equipment for users to a high degree of accuracy to families and/or carers. To make emergency equipment/collections as requested to meet the needs of the service. To liaise directly with Support Coordinators to report failed delivery, failed collection or unsafe requests to ensure immediate remedial action can be taken. To liaise directly with Support Coordinators to report any abnormalities on runs to ensure they are at full capacity and therefore efficient runs are achieved each day. To ensure collected equipment is placed in quarantine on the return to store, reducing the risk to staff and users. To undertake general warehouse and stock duties as directed by the Operational Team Leader ensuring stock areas are tidy, stock levels are adequate and equipment is bar coded. To undertake timely and accurate picking of stock necessary to fulfil daily orders. To complete daily vehicle, PPE and tool checklists. To actively participate in the loading and unloaded of vehicles each day correctly, to HSE and vehicle manufactures guidelines. To ensure vehicles are decontaminated each week inside and outside to prevent cross contamination. To supervise staff deployed from other areas to the Logistics Team when they are supporting deliveries and collections. At times of increased pressure and demand you may be re-deployed to assist in other areas of the service as directed by the Team Manager and/or Operational Leads.
