638563 Warehouse Shift Supervisor Barnsley Full Time/Permanent Competitive Salary Plus Benefits FANTASTIC OPPORTUNITY Our client is currently on the lookout for an experienced Warehouse Shift Supervisor to join there ever growing company based in Barnsley. The Shift Supervisors work as part of a team to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the Operations department, including managing allocated colleagues, maximising productivity and adhering to all of our clients procedures. As Shift Supervisor you will report to the Shift Managers and will deputise as and when required. Duties · Ensuring that all Health and Safety procedures are always followed and encouraging colleagues to do the same · Active reporting of Health and Safety near misses and encouraging colleagues to do the same · Active implementation of brand integrity controls and encouraging your team and others to do the same · Completion of regulation · Manage departmental workflow · Monitor work flow, identifying any developing situation that may impact the service level (SL) and agree corrective action with the appropriate manager · Monitor operations and resolve any problems when identified, using appropriate resource available · Drive change and continuous improvement · Deliver and manage tasks according to company procedures in a timely manner · Perform investigations in Health & Safety and compliance breaches and deviations from procedures ensuring Investigation Reports and Corrective and Preventative Actions are closed out on time · Manage performance with colleagues with the support of the manager and look for trends of absence as well as supporting them back into the work place · Ensure regular time to talks with colleagues are documented and relevant feedback is provided to colleagues · Ensure KPI targets are monitored, measured and achieved · Support the manager with all disciplinary and grievance issues in accordance with the organisational policies · Support the manager in the recruitment process as and when necessary · Understand the process flow within the department and deploy labour accordingly · Escalate any system or hardware failures to the appropriate department · Coach and mentor colleagues · Identify over performers and highlight individuals as talent to the Manager · Identify under performers and suggest solutions and support to enable improvements/training requirements · Constantly look at operational improvements, sharing knowledge and leading by example · Communicate with the team through regular briefings, to enable the sharing of company information. · Creating a team environment and value through effective communication, motivation, equality and encouragement · Ensure Good Housekeeping at all times within area of responsibility · Deputise for the Shift Managers when and if the need arises · Work with peers to ensure smooth running of the shift and undertake any other required tasks as requested by the departmental Manager · Promote and support interdepartmental team work focus in on ‘One Vision, One Goal, One Team’ · Assessing training requirements for your colleagues and ensure that all colleagues receive quality training · Management of the Time and Attendance system · Ensure full understanding of all relevant Company policies and procedures that are specific to your role · Undertake Emergency Response Marshall Training if required and be a recognised point of reference for the department About You · Experience in leading and managing a team in a busy environment · The ability to motivate staff and deal with issues in a fair and considerate manner · Experienced in a team based environment with emphasis on quality/BRC compliance · Excellent planning and organisational skills · Excellent IT skills including a good understanding of operational systems · IOSH qualification would be an advantage · Food Hygiene – Level 2, Level 3 is desirable · Food Safety – Level 2, Level 3 is desirable · Experience of managing and supervising colleagues · Good Level of communication, both written & verbal · Excellent Problem solving skills and ability to think on your feet · Role model of desirable behaviours and ways of working · Able to inspire trust and confidence Benefits · All training provided · Membership to the Store; which includes 2 family membership passes upon successful completion of the probationary period · 2 x death in service cover · Discounted rates at the onsite café and the gym Hours: Hours of work are an average of 40 hours per week on patterns of Early, Late and Evening shifts, but some overtime may be required dependent upon the needs of the business.
