2nd Line Support Technician Location: Ladywell Mills, BD4 7DF Salary: circa £30,000 per annum Hours of Work: Mon-Fri 8:30am-5:30pm About the Company: With over 40 years’ experience in Textiles, our client offers you so much more than just yarn. The 2nd Line Support Technician role: This is a new role working with the IT Support Assistant to provide enhanced day to day support across our group of companies allowing the Group IT & Communications Manager to work on the strategy and development of the IT function. You will be the central point of contact for all IT related incidents and service requests, providing 2nd line support for the business and helping to supervise and develop the IT Support Assistant. You will utilise both your IT skills and your knowledge of SQL to help develop a stable network and improve key areas of the IT infrastructure. Along with your excellent experience and knowledge of 2nd line support you will also be experienced in developing and utilising SQL queries and database maintenance. 2nd Line Support Technician Responsibilities: Manage and prioritise all 2nd line incidents and requests according to defined SLAs Daily maintenance of the group’s servers General troubleshooting of the desktop computing environment based on incidents service desk requests logged via the Servicecamp portal Troubleshooting a range of technology and telephony issues: investigating, diagnosing faults and working through to resolution Monitor the remote service desk alerts and notifications and respond accordingly through service tickets to established SLA’s Provide 2nd Line support relating to technical issues involving Microsoft’s core business applications and operating systems Basic technical support at the network level such as DNS/DHCP, AD, VLAN, WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls and security 2nd Line Support Technician Requirements: Qualified to degree level in an IT related field Microsoft MCP qualification (Desirable) At least 3 years’ experience in an IT Support role Measurable experience with Microsoft Server 2008 R2 – Server 2019 (Essential) SQL proven experience (Essential) Full and clean Driving Licence, with use of own vehicle Considerable experience of IT Service Management principles and processes Solid understanding of hardware and software asset management processes Measurable experience of working to and exceeding SLAs Broad technical understanding of IS services being supported Solid working knowledge of database/excel structures/tables/configurations Sage X3 ERP systems knowledge (Advantageous) 2nd Line Support Technician Benefits: Competitive salary 25 days holiday plus recognised bank holidays 2 x Death in service Cashplan Healthcare scheme Auto-enrolment pension scheme On-site gym facilities Free on-site parking If you think that you are suitable for this 2nd Line Support Technician role, please apply now
