Overview

About the role Our client is an inspiring woman in her early 50s that suffered an acquired brain injury approx. 10 years ago. Our client is living in Thornton Heath with her extended family following many years in a residential setting. As a result of her injury, she is unable to mobilise independently and requires the use of a motorized wheelchair for mobility. She can display challenging behaviour, have slurred speech when she is tired and has cognitive impairment including difficulty with attention, concentration and memory. She also has a weakness on the left side of her body and is unable to use her left limb in functional tasks. Our client has an excellent therapy team and guidelines are in place to support our client's rehabilitation. Our client enjoys going to the theatre, music concerts and having fun. (Car Driver preferable) We currently have the following shifts available: Shift type: Weekdays Rates of pay:£11.20 - 14.00 per hour Shift type: Weekends Rates of pay: £11.20 - 14.00 per hour We can offer you: Weekly pay plus holiday pay Flexible working hours On-going FREE training and development opportunities Refer a friend bonus scheme (cash reward between £150 - £400) Free Uniform In return, we’d like you to have: 6 months previous care experience • Excellent communication skills, written, verbal and listening • A caring and compassionate attitude • Can commit to regular hours at the weekend on an on-going basis • Managing Challenging Behaviour • Medication management • Following therapy guidelines • Manual handling • ABI experience required • Should you wish to drive our clients vehicle you will need to be aged 25 for insurance purposes Car Driver Preferable Interserve Healthcare is a leading care provider who puts care at the heart of everything we do. As a Care Assistant duties will vary dependent on each client’s individual care plan. These may include personal care, assistance with moving and handling, support with community outings and medication administration.
