JOB AD: GPU Architect - Hardware - Cambridge or London Job Summary: My client has exciting opportunities for GPU architecture Experts in Cambridge, UK, to deliver industry leading mobile chip GPU architecture design. Job Purpose: The role is focus on platform development not application development. Key Responsibilities: This open job opportunity is looking for a senior Graphics Processor Unit Architect responding to graphics application and architecture research in mobile SOC and guide the leading edge in each respect of GPU-relative design and technology development. -Responsible for GPU performance and power modeling and analysis, including both hardware architecture and software framework like compiler, driver, operating system, and application. -Define the GPU product requirements and spec. Research on applications of GPU and provide the guideline of GPU hardware/software functionality requirements and relative implementations. -Research new technology or methodology to improve GPU rendering and computing performance and power efficiency. Output requirements and architecture design guidelines to the Designers. -Research and review GPU architecture proposal from designers, require new techniques for improving GPU hardware's power, performance, and area. Make final decision as the guardian of designer's final technical proposal. Person Specification: List details of Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Qualifications needed to do the job: Required: -MS/PhD degree in EE/CE or relative field with 5 or more years of ASIC design experience, to be with direct experience working with mobile programmable graphics hardware design is preferred. -Expertise in state of the art mobile programmable graphics and computing architecture and compiler technology. -Familiarity with graphics/compute/vision standard APIs (OpenGL, OpenGL ES, OpenCL, Vulkan, OpenVX, etc) -Familiarity with Android graphics system architecture and work flow from application level to kernel level. -Deep understanding on software and algorithm development using GPU, for example, 3D games, virtual reality, image processing, artificial intelligence, etc. -Strong skills in SOC low power analysis, methodology, work flow, and design. -Strong skills in GPU performance modelling and analysis. Desired: -Excellent learning and communication skills.
