Graduate Metrology Engineer (1 years experience min in Metrology to apply) Inspection department reporting to Quality Manager Permanent Salary circa £22,000 - £25,000 depending on experience Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire Our Aerospace client is seeking a Graduate Metrology Engineer with min 1 years experience within Metrology to fulfil the below role. Job Purpose: To ensure high quality standards are maintained while supporting and managing a team of 3 inspectors. Set tasks and priorities to guarantee through put is achieved. Communicate at all levels and be customer facing on technical issues. Be self-motivated and professional in approach with a can-do attitude. Main Duties and Responsibilities: •Purpose oFully conversant with a version of CMM software (PCDmis, PolyWorks, PowerInspect) oUsing customer drawings and ‘statements of work’, be able to create inspection plans and instructions oDeep understanding of GD&T oUnderstand the requirements of production, assign staff /resources to achieve the customer delivery promises oTaking ownership of commitments and effectively flow the requirements down to the inspection team oManage in process inspection including timely first off and final inspections oUnderstand manual inspection techniques and where required be hands on oHave a good understanding of the CMM inspection process, be able to talk through set ups and inspection techniques with customer, inspection team and engineers oTrain /develop both new and existing staff and monitor to confirm progress oRelease signatory for quality sign off oKnowledge of a compliance system to maintain quality standards (ISO9001, AS9100, etc) oReport inspection KPI’s oContinuous development of departmental operations oLead external Quality audits/visits •Key Responsibilities oLead the preparation and completion of quality documentation oResponsible for inspecting incoming and outgoing product /materials oCreating robust inspection strategies oProducing clear and accurate instructions for inspectors oSupporting inspection requirements including creating design guidelines oManaging all documentation in the department oEnsure that quality is maintained to specific requirements oTo ensure all inspection equipment is maintained in accordance with requirements •Company Support oSupport shop floor staff as required to ensure manufacture in compliance with design intent, and by the most efficient methods oFully comply with Company Policies including Health and Safety at all times To apply please send an MS Word formatted version of your CV across for our review This job was originally posted as www.totaljobs.com/job/89634079
