Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a talented team lead software engineer to join one of our highly successful flagship businesses, working in an agile and rapidly expanding global environment. You will join a team engaged in delivering high performance data services to the petrochemical and energy industries. The successful candidate will need to hit the ground running, with a proven track record as a team lead in software engineering and data services. The position performs research, design, and development of data systems. There will be a high focus on loading data into a data lake, transforming the data, moving it into other zones within the data lake and making the data available for further analysis. You will actively participate with an existing group of Developers, Architects, DevOps Engineers and Analysts to design, develop, implement, and optimise complete end-to-end data handling solutions that transforms the organisation at the enterprise level. You will also ensure the continuous improvement of existing products and processes and build new products and applications. Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities: · Team leadership, coaching, mentoring and code reviews · Maintaining high standards of software qualiity · Building ETL (extract, transform and load) processes to load data into a data lake, and then provide further data transformations in the data lake. · Building and deploying applications to dev/test/prod environments. · Automating configuration management, infrastructure, and application deployments. · Work with Technical Support, Operations, Data Science and Product. · Work in a fast-paced dynamic environment. · Communicate with functional area managers, project sponsors, and/or consultants regarding status of specific projects. · Work closely with support groups to refine system monitoring and reporting. · Problem solving and analysing issues: including arranging and coordinating with resources necessary to effectively troubleshoot/diagnose complex issues · Proper estimation, execution, documentation, and closure of tasks, changes, and requests. · Collaboration and teamwork: actively develop strong, supportive and collaborative working relationships.
