Overview

What we are looking for Tax is continuously undergoing significant changes; with changes to tax legislation, increased media focus and scrutiny, technology advancements, and the increasing global reach of clients, all coming together to shape an exciting and challenging future in the market for tax services. As a result, we are looking to expand our tax department for someone who is always up for a challenge and are quick to grasp new subjects. You don’t have to be a maths genius but you will need to be comfortable with numbers. Ideally, we would like someone who has already had exposure to personal tax and knows it is the area of expertise they wish to pursue, but as a minimum they must be educated to A-Level standard or equivalent (A- C), have GCSEs grade C and above in Maths and English, and have some office experience. Key Duties & Responsibilities - Supporting the tax manager and partners in preparation of tax returns, and submission of tax returns to HM Revenue and Customs, for personal, partnership and trust clients. - Able to deal with clients queries to include dealing with HM Revenue and Customs. - Supporting managers and partners with requests from clients for advice. - Dealing with PAYE coding notices, P800’s and other HMRC correspondence. - Prepare and send out annual personal tax return information requests and other ad hoc admin tasks. - Maintenance of monthly trust cashbooks. - Completion of annual trust capital gains tax forecasts. - Assist with the preparation of annual trust accounts. Required Skills & Attributes - Excellent organisational skills. - Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel, and knowledge of CCH would be helpful but not essential. - Willingness to study towards AAT/ATT. - Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. - Able to deliver first class client service and work effectively as part of a team. - Excellent numerical skills and business acumen.
