Handling over 200,000 claims a year, QBE has built a reputation for excellence within the market and is widely recognised for its technical expertise We are looking for a Senior Fraud Claims Adjuster to join our team, this is your chance to create your career in an exciting environment where anything is possible. As a Senior Fraud Claims Adjuster, you will be responsible for handling and identifying fraudulent claims within QBE’s Special Investigation Unit (SIU). It will also be to research and investigate all detected fraud claims referred into the SIU, on behalf of QBE lines of business. Your responsibilities for this role may include, but are not limited to: To review, research and investigate all SIU (Special Investigation Unit) intelligence outputs from fraud prevention systems On direction from the business, handle a case load of fraud claims/investigations to conclusion Ability to co-handle a claim on specific fraud issues by providing recommendations back to the business on how the case should proceed Ability to work with the Insurance Fraud Bureau (IFB) and the Insurance Fraud Enforcement Department (IFED) on complex cross insurer fraud rings Ability to draft witness statements in both civil & criminal matters (Preferred but not essential) Ability to prepare evidential packages for IFB/IFED investigations To strategically and tactically assess intelligence reports in accordance with the national intelligence model and the maintaining control of intelligence and protection of sources Ability to carry out Desktop enquiries including but not limited to; open source internet investigations, & working with specific fraud software Assist with the testing of new fraud prevention systems and software Provide advice and support to business areas and SIU with regard to potential fraud risks Produce high quality written reports and advice for internal stakeholders, to include recommendations Submit Suspicious Activity Reports as necessary to the Company MLR You will need to be able to display you have the following qualifications and experience: A claims history of working within an anti-fraud environment and the investigation/handling of fraudulent claims. Preferably someone who is working in a dedicated anti-fraud role. A specific claims handling knowledge of key insurance areas, such as, but not limited to Motor, Casualty & Property A good understanding of the UK/European legal system and its judicial practices. A specific knowledge of fraud trends within the insurance market Understanding of GDPR data protection laws, Anti Money Laundering regulations & Proceeds of Crime Act provisions Use of fraud prevention systems/tools Production of high quality fraud analysis reports Knowledge and a solid understanding of relevant fraud related legislation Proficient in the use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Internet Explorer Knowledge of FCA requirements and the regulatory framework relating to general insurance. Good communicator - ability to positively influence key stakeholders, suppliers and law enforcement representatives Coaching and training staff on fraud related matters At QBE, we view our people as our most precious asset.
