Continuous Improvement Manufacturing Engineer We currently have an opening for a talented Production Engineer with a passion for lean / Continuous Improvement to be based at our smart, manufacturing facility. We have a rich heritage and an established secure customer base but also operate at the cutting edge of technology which is reflected in our strong order book and success. As a result of our ongoing success we are seeking a Production Engineer to undertake a pivotal role in support of manufacturing operations. The focus of this position is lean / continuous improvements to achieve increased production output across our assembly and manufacturing operations. There is considerable opportunity for a Production Engineer with a background in lean / six sigma / continuous improvements to make a real tangible difference within manufacture. Key accountabilities will include: Utilising your technical acumen to identify areas for change and then project manage the implementation of these initiatives through to successful introduction. This will encompass optimising automated equipment, researching new innovative manufacturing processes and technologies as well as providing support, and training on Kaizen and Lean Projects. Standardizing work instructions, look at ways to reduce change over time on equipment, simplify component assembly Identify cost saving opportunities and bottlenecks to reduce cycle time and improve overall effectiveness using Continuous Improvement / Lean Six Sigma tools Work with the manufacturing teams to optimise the production lines and simplify assembly and manufacture. Identify cost saving opportunities using Lean Six Sigma methodology and tools and promote the use of tools such as FMEA's On our higher volume processes look to implement tools such as SPC to ensure process capability meets requirements and ensure preventative maintenance measure are in place. Drive, Support, train on and facilitate Lean Six Sigma activities providing engineering resource for Kaizen and Lean Projects. The ideal candidate will have several years Production Engineering / Manufacturing Engineering experience within an electronic assembly manufacturing environment, coupled with an appreciation of lean tools and initiatives such as Six Sigma, Kaizan, DFM, SPC, 5S, FMEA's etc. In return you will be rewarded with a real platform to deliver tangible results, and a high degree of autonomy.
