Maxxima’s nursing team are currently recruiting for a Functional Assessor – Registered Nurse to fill a full-time role in Cardiff, Wales with an excellent opportunity for you to develop your existing skills and qualify as a Functional Assessor. You will be rewarded with a fantastic benefits package, with no weekend work required This role will grow your medical knowledge and experience working in a health and disability assessment role conducting medical assessments and examinations. You will conduct thorough and consultative verbal assessments with people who are living with a long-term health condition and/or disability. Your role will include file-work, reviewing medical evidence in a written or electronic format. You must be able to produce excellent written reports on the conditions presented to help the Department for Work and Pensions to make an informed decision around an individual's entitlement to the benefit. You must be able to work unsupervised and use your own initiative. It is essential for this role that you have highly developed oral and written communication skills. There is unrivalled investment in you as an employee and you will earn over 140 hours of CPD in your initial 3 months whilst completing an excellent training academy as you work towards accreditation as a Disability Analyst. This is a permanent Monday to Friday, 09:00-17:00 position, starting as soon as you can be available. You will be using your clinical skills in a new way and benefiting from the excellent work life balance. The salary for this Functional Assessor – Registered Nurse role is from £38’000 - £45,000 depending on location. Requirements for this Functional Assessor – Registered Nurse vacancy: You must be a registered general nurse with a valid NMC. You will have a minimum of 2 years broad based clinical experience within the past 5 years. You must have experience working with adults in a range of clinical situations; surgical, medical, A&E, community and practice nursing would be ideal. You must be able to complete assessments ENB 998 or equivalent is desirable but not essential IT skills with experience using a range of software is essential Previous experience working as a disability assessment is desirable but not essential Must have a driving licence and access to a vehicle.
